Where does JET's fuel come from?
The JET brand is backed by its own refinery in Northern Lincolnshire and JET’s quality fuel is transported via road tanker, pipeline, rail and shipping to multiple locations across the UK. Like many other brands, in areas where it is not economical to use fuel from the refinery, we buy from third parties, but always ensuring the fuel meets the same high standards.
Are JET petrol stations operated under a franchise agreement?
In the UK, JET supplies fuel and forecourt branding to independently owned dealer sites, and as such does not operate a franchise arrangement. JET owns petrol stations that are operated by a Service Station Operator.
Do your fuels contain Ethanol?
Drivers looking to fill up at one of our 300+ JET branded petrol station forecourts throughout the UK currently have two fuel options: they can choose our regular JET petrol which contains up to 10%ethanol (E10) as per latest BS EN228 or, where it is available, they can choose our new JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded, with its minimum 97 RON, containing up to5% ethanol (E5).
Does JET own all their JET branded petrol station forecourts in the UK?
No, in the UK, JET supplies fuel and forecourt branding to independently owned sites and owns some sites itself operated by SSOs.
Does JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded contain ethanol?
Under the UK Government Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (known as RTFO), fuel producers have a legal requirement to use a certain percentage of renewable fuels. In petrol, this is normally ethanol, which may be derived from a variety of renewable feedstocks. Petrol with a 95 RON (like our Regular JET petrol) contains up to 10% ethanol. JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded, with its minimum 97 RON, contains 5% ethanol. JET Ultra-Premium Unleaded is also safe for cars who cannot accept E10 but can E5.
Does your JET ULTRA Premium Diesel contain biodiesel?
Under the UK Government Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (known as RTFO), fuel producers have a legal requirement to use a certain percentage of renewable fuels. Most road diesel in the UK (including JET ULTRA Premium Diesel) contains up to 7% biodiesel.
How can I stop dirt and deposits from forming in my engine?
To make energy to drive your car forward, all fuels undergo a process called combustion in the engine which creates these carbon deposits and dirt. JET ULTRA Premium Fuels are specially designed to deep-clean dirty engines and prevent deposits from building up.
How does JET ULTRA Premium Fuel clean my engine?

What does the higher-octane (RON) in JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded mean?
You might be more familiar with the term "Super Unleaded", the common name for higher RON fuels. RON (Research Octane Number), is the standard measure of a fuel's performance. Essentially, the higher the number, the more compression the fuel can withstand and the better the performance.** Because Regular JET Unleaded has a minimum RON of 95 and JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded has a minimum RON of 97 you can use JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded where you can use Regular JET Unleaded. Some car manufacturers recommend the use of high-octane fuel. ** Performance improvement may be more noticeable in high performance cars.
What is an SSO?
SSO's are Service Station Operators which are limited companies employing a site manager and contracted by JET to operate a JET company owned petrol station on a commission operation basis.
What is loss of performance?
As these dirty deposits build up, they can have a knock-on effect on your engines performance. You might find your acceleration isn't what it used to be, there's a loss of overall power or an increase in emissions.
What is meant by a Commission Operated?
SSO's will earn income through operation of the site and income derived from commission payments for fuel sales and directly from sales of shop products within the site and income from ancillary services (e.g. car wash).
What is the power output of a JET CHARGE charger?

What's the difference between a JET dealer and a JET Service Station Operator?
SSO's are third parties contracted by JET to operate a JET company owned petrol station on a commission operation basis. A JET dealer owns and operates its site independently, under a branding and fuel supply agreement with JET.

Why are dirt and deposits being created in my engine?
When a car engine runs, fuel is injected into the combustion chamber, where it mixes with air. This process, called combustion, creates carbon deposits that can stick to your engine's vital parts. If you think of your engine like your car's mouth than this natural carbon build-up is a bit like plaque on your teeth.
Why do you currently have two forecourt images?
We launched a new petrol station forecourt design in 2019 after a testing period. Our new bright, modern forecourts are designed to help you stand out. We have started the network wide rollout of the new image; the old JET design will no longer be available for new sites.
Will JET ULTRA Premium Fuel work in my engine?
JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded meets the BS EN 228 British Standard, and JET ULTRA Premium Diesel meets the BS EN 590 standard. These are British Standards for fuel on which vehicles are designed to run. The effects of cleaning depend on factors such as what fuel you used previously, age, type and state of your vehicle, the road conditions, your style of driving and journey time.

On your fuel labels what does the information mean?
The fuel label that you are referring to is now required under the new legislation "Alternative Fuel Labelling and Greenhouse Gas Emissions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2019" and is designed to help the customer understand the maximum amount of biofuel that could be in the fuel.
