Great customer service is something all our forecourts aspire to, but every once in a while we get to hear about exceptional customer service. And that’s exactly what happened when the team at Penny Petroleum’s JET forecourt in Marske, North Yorkshire, got in touch to tell us about one of their cashiers, Dominic Yeates, who has become something of a local celebrity thanks to his outstanding customer service skills.

When one of Dominic’s happy customers went on a local community Facebook page to post a message about how happy and friendly Dominic is all the time, the response was phenomenal. Hundreds of customers liked, loved and commented on the post, with many sharing wonderful feedback on the difference that Dominic makes to their daily commute or lunch hour.  Some even commented that he ‘restores their faith in humanity’.

Dominic, who has since been interviewed by the local newspaper, went online to thank his ‘fans’, commenting on the original post: “Thank you very much for all the fantastic comments. It’s very much appreciated and goes a long way! I really enjoy my job and think we have a fantastic customer base in Marske! It’s what makes the job 10 times better. I try to do my job in a professional and polite manner and try and meet all customers’ needs!”

Everyone at JET head office – and at Penny Petroleum – couldn’t be prouder of Dominic and his exemplary approach to customer service and he has been rewarded for going above and beyond what is expected.
