Where does JET's fuel come from?

The JET brand is backed by its own refinery in Northern Lincolnshire and JET’s quality fuel is transported via road tanker, pipeline, rail and shipping to multiple locations across the UK. Like many other brands, in areas where it is not economical to use fuel from the refinery, we buy from third parties, but always ensuring the fuel meets the same high standards.

Do your fuels contain Ethanol?

Drivers looking to fill up at one of our 300+ JET branded petrol station forecourts throughout the UK currently have two fuel options: they can choose our regular JET petrol which contains up to 5% ethanol (E5) as per BS EN228 or, where it is available, they can choose our new JET ULTRA Premium Unleaded which is ethanol-free apart from in the Yorkshire and the Humber Region, Teesside or Scotland, where it contains 5% ethanol.

On your fuel labels what does the information mean?

The fuel label that you are referring to is now required under the new legislation "Alternative Fuel Labelling and Greenhouse Gas Emissions (Miscellaneous Amendments) Regulations 2019" and is designed to help the customer understand the maximum amount of biofuel that could be in the fuel. You can find out more about this at the HM Government website, https://knowyourfuel.campaign.gov.uk/.

The fuel hasn’t changed, it's still the same fuel. Note the words "could be", as it can mean that the fuel can have up to 5% Ethanol, but could also have 0% Ethanol, but the label must state the potential maximum.

Does JET own all their JET branded petrol station forecourts in the UK?

No, in the UK, JET supplies fuel and forecourt branding to independently owned sites and owns some sites itself operated by SSOs.

I am looking for employment advice or a reference relating to a JET petrol station site where I work or have worked?

All aspects of employment are handled at each individual petrol station site by the dealer or SSO. Therefore, we recommend getting in touch with the site directly.

Why are dirt and deposits being created in my engine?

When a car engine runs, fuel is injected into the combustion chamber, where it mixes with air. This process, called combustion, creates carbon deposits that can stick to your engine's vital parts. If you think of your engine like your car's mouth than this natural carbon build-up is a bit like plaque on your teeth.

How can I stop dirt and deposits from forming in my engine?

To make energy to drive your car forward, all fuels undergo a process called combustion in the engine which creates these carbon deposits and dirt. JET ULTRA Premium Fuels are specially designed to deep-clean dirty engines and prevent deposits from building up.
